Into the Dark

I love the start of Fall, or "spooky season", as the kids are calling it now. The cool damp of fog,

the sweet, tart punch of apples in the air and the aroma of something spicy and sweet sending out its warm fragrance from the kitchen...all of that makes this slide into the darker days of the year a beautiful and introspective time.

We say that the veil (between the living humans and the Mystery) is thinnest at this time of year. Although it's deeply thrilling to consider what lies in the shadows of this world (and the next), this does not have to be a scary time.

Haunted things are filled with what used to be. The best of them is already in the past, or so think both haunted things and haunted people.

We are not required to be haunted.

Sure, things happen that we don't want and cannot enjoy--but having a whole life means we get other stuff, too. Other surprises. Other miracles. Other joy.

I like to keep in mind that what we call "occult" just means "hidden". There are things hiding in the darkness, sure...but there are also things hiding in the light.

Some of what is hidden from us through time and perspective is truth. Of course, we all know there are many ways to find it.

Tarot readings are one of the ways I can help you find the truth. In October, I am offering a three-card reading with my Nightmare Before Christmas Tarot deck for just $25.

(It looks nothing like the image above.)

We can also find our own truth. That's one of the most important things we can do in this lifetime.

I would be thrilled to help you develop your ability to hear your intuition more accurately and more completely with classes and videos. Just text or email me to get started.

Our world is constantly changing, as we are. It is filled with abundance, as we are. In the beginning of a season, in these moments when change is visible, I feel I am getting to peek behind the curtains. I get to see part of the mystery. I am reminded that I'm always part of it.

While we slide towards soup season, think about what you intend to simmer. What ideas would you like to give the space to develop? What thoughts are you willing to give the luxury of time?

What is resting right next to your heart? You get to decide. What will you make space for?
